Description

This module considers the performance of and emissions from reciprocating engines. It should enable students to recognise the salient aspects of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics in SI and CI engines The students will perform thermodynamic calculations; to analyse the performance of engines. The state of the art and future technologies will be examined e.g. tubocharging and, variable valve timing.
